Artist | Heritage Conservation & Restoration Specialist
Pablo Román (1967, Santiago, Chile) is a distinguished artist and heritage conservation specialist, recognized for his work in painting, sculpture, and monumental restoration. With over 30 years of experience, he has led restoration projects in Chile, Spain, the United States, and Mexico, including iconic works such as the restoration of the sculptural relief at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Santiago, the dome of the Monastery of San Lorenzo de El Escorial in Madrid, and the disassembly and relocation of the Columbus Monument on Madrid’s Avenida de la Castellana.
In addition to his conservation work, Román also develops his own artistic practice, which is appreciated in private collections worldwide. He currently serves as the Head of Heritage at the Hospital del Salvador in Santiago, where he oversees the conservation and promotion of the institution’s cultural legacy. His integrated approach to art, history, and preservation has established him as a leading figure in both heritage conservation and the visual arts.
